Penguins Down in the Igloo Bands on a Budget

Round One: Registered Artists will be added to a list of potential performers and the voting begins. The twelve artists with the most votes will proceed to the performance round. It's a popularity contest.

Round Two: The twelve most popular bands/artists will perform on one of three nights. Performers will be judged by the number of tickets sold (pre sales only). The top three selling acts will proceed to the final round to compete for cash and prizes.

Round Three: The Final round will be a music showcase featuring the top three selling acts. The band/artist which sells the most tickets to their combined shows (presales only) will be awarded the grand prize. Second and Third runners up will also receive prizes.

Rules and Regulations:

1. Potential candidates must register online at www.bandchitickets.com/register.htm before midnight Sept. 13th, 2008.
2. The pool of registered participants will be determined on a first come first serve basis not to exceed seventy-five (75).
3. Twelve (12) artists will be identified by the largest number of votes accumulated using the BandChi Online Voting System located at www.bandchitickets.com/voting.php
4. Cumulative current results will be made available online in conjunction with the BandChi Online Voting System.
5. Voting will begin at midnight EST on Sept. 20th, 2008, and continue until midnight EST on Oct. 4th, 2008.
6. The twelve (12) most popular artists will move to the first performance round; Round Two.
7. Round Two Artists will be required to perform live on either 11/1/08, 11/8/08, or 11/15/08 between the hours of 8:00 pm and 12:00 am at Penguins Down in the Igloo; 1065 Maiden Choice lane, Arbutus, Maryland.
8. Three (3) winners will be identified in Round Two by the highest number of cumulative ticket pre-sales. The three (3) highest sellers will be chosen from All Three Round Two Performances.
9. Tickets Sold will be calculated using the BandChi Online Ticket Booth established for each of the twelve (12) Round Two participants.
10. Tickets will not be sold in blocks and are available only online one at a time.
11. The three (3) top selling artists from the Round Two performance dates will advance to the final round.
12. Finalists will be required to perform on 12/6/08 between the hours of 8:00 pm and 12:00 am at Penguins Down in the Igloo; 1065 Maiden Choice lane, Arbutus, Maryland.
13. The overall winner will be determined by the highest number of tickets sold (pre-sales only) accumulated from Round Two and Round Three performance events.
14. In the event of a tie, meaning one or more finalists have sold EXACTLY the same number of ticket pre-sales accumulated in Round Two and Round Three, the winner will be determined by the number of patrons in attendance on Dec. 6th at Penguins Down in the Igloo; all patrons will be polled at the door for their allegiance.
15. In the event that the number of tickets sold and the number of fans in attendance does not break the tie, the winner will be determined by the highest number of online votes as established in Round One during the online voting period.
16. Awards will be announced and presented at the end of the night on 12/6/08 at Penguins Down in the Igloo.
17. Top prize is calculated as $2.00 for every ticket sold during performance rounds Two and Three, up to $1,000.00 cash. Additional products and services may be awarded by various sponsors. Second and third place winners will also receive prizes provided by sponsors.
18. Prizes will be posted on the Registration Page as they become available.
19. Winners will be required to meet the guidelines set forth by sponsors to receive their prize packages.
20. Performers are required to check in and load in at the event by 7:00 pm and no later than 7:30 pm on the date of their performance. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture.
21. Performers are made aware that a sound technician is available for their performance for a fee of $50.00 which must be paid In Advance of their performance.
22. House drums and PA system are available for use.
23. Performers are asked to share equipment whenever possible to minimize set changes.
24. Performers are liable for the cleaning and repair of the venue and it's facilities in the event that the host, Penguins Down in the Igloo, deems their performance to have been the cause or the source of violence, vandalism, or disrespect of venue property and facilities.
25. At any time during the competition, if an artist or one of it's members is found to be inflating votes, buying multiple tickets or make any attempt to skew the voting, that artist will be immediately disqualified and removed from the competition. No warnings!
26. By submitting an application to be included in The Battle of BandChi the participating artist has agreed to the terms as stated in these Rules and Regulations.
