Spy Nation Video 'Waiting For You'

These are exciting times for Indie artists. The market is saturated with new music and constantly emerging new artists; many of which would be better to have stayed in the basement. But on occassion something new raises it's head and gives the industry cause to pause. Spy Nation is one of those head turning acts that make us stop and ponder.

The sound isn't as much original as it is unique; a typical condition of Indie artists. With a blend of Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock and Classical this act has started something that could very well set a trend. And then again, maybe not.

Like many of you, this video landed in our MS friend updates and we took the time to listen and watch. We have seen it several times now and can't escape the feeling that "Waiting For You" should be at the top of the MTV and VH1 play lists.

The video is well produced, filmed in black and white in their northern haven amidst the snow and rooftops of Montreal, Canada. But let's not forget, the song is really hot.

Raphaelle, daughter of Quebec famed pianist Philippe Tisseyre, has been surrounded all of her life by musical influences. According to the blog entries, she and Gilbert Baptiste, a nationally acclaimed dance choreographer with Destins Croisés, joined forces to form Spy Nation.

They have advanced their cause steadily over the past two years gaining attention from many reputable sources; most of which are north of the border and out of site of the mainstream music industry. Their performances are a blend of music and dance that is sure to entertain the Hip-Hop fans.

Spy Nation has a hit with 'Waiting for You'. What they do to translate that into success is something we'll be waiting to see. <<Back
