It's Time for 'A New Revolution'
7/28/2008 - Rants and Raves
Knock! Knock! - "Who's there?" - A New Revolution. - "A New Revolution who?"
Come on and wake up! This is the best damn release since the Hellyeah debut. Good news is ANR is touring madly across the states with top shelf acts like Sevendust and Panic Cell. We caught up with them after reviewing their debut release "Rise", on Koch Records.
To be perfectly honest, this album blew us away. While the sound isn't necessarily a departure from the core Hard Rock/Metal scene now raising the tide, it is by far the most impressive release we've seen in a year or more.
It's difficult to put a finger on the sound and/or genre. Why? Because they have done a brilliant job of meshing the melodic with the shredding, the sweet vocals with the grunge voice. This just might be the band to push the Rock Radio industry over the edge and finally get airplay for the more intense rock/metal that concert goers seem to love.
According to Frankie Salvaggio, bassist, the band has been getting airplay on Sirius and XM Satellite radio as well as select rock stations across the country. And that is no surprise at all. The album is filled with several tunes that will make the radio rock transition without a stretch.
Hard driving pieces like "California Burning" and "NME" set the tone for their crunchy sound while sticking close to melodic, catchy riffs and vocals. Meanwhile, their gentle side surfaces in "Love to Hate" and "Let Go", performaces that are deep, inspirational and touching. Fact is, "Beautiful" is destined to be on the lips of steering wheel stars for years to come.
Their music hits the mark like Led Zeppelin tunes; you know the ones that make you feel what 'they' feel? There is something on this album for everyone, but more impressive is that it isn't two good tunes and a bag of fluff. It's nice to buy an album that plays sweet from cover to cover. It's about damn time.
A New Revolution landed a recording deal and picked up a tour with Sevendust after their mangement recognized their solid work ethic. True to their nature they will be playing endless dates until sometime December when they'll take a much needed rest and head back to studio for a 2009 release.
We asked Frankie for some words of advice to our Indie readers. "Write solid songs," he says. "Play live often and work with established musicians as much as you can."
A New Revolution is destined to be headlining next year. Catch them now so you can say, "I was there when..." Because these guys are soon to be untouchable. <<Back
