| The Deadly Seven Ready to Pounce |
8/17/2008 - Rants and Raves

The Deadly Seven is a name that is destined to be on everyone's lips. Their brash mixture of punk music, gore theatrics and strip club antics appears to touch a nerve in everyone's body; it's just a matter of which one.
For many, the D7 show is no doubt way over the top, while others are being drawn to it like lambs to the slaughter. They employ a similar love/hate relationship with the media that made Kiss famous and ushered in Slipknot. Mix those two up, throw in some tits and ass, a vile of punk attitude and a few lessons from Gwar and you'll find yourself smack dab in the middle of seven deadly bitches that would just as soon eat you as entertain you.
In 2005, they were Las Vegas showgirls, four of them performing on the side as punk band The Bloody Klitz. Manager, Mr. D, transformed the concept into The Deadly Seven, added three new faces, and the rest is history in motion.
While these girls can play their own intruments they have added a back up band, Kreep, so they can focus on the antics. Afterall, it's tough to play guitar while slinging blood, bashing heads and having an orgasm. But don't think that the music is secondary. We're convinced it has a trace message embeded in the soundtrack that causes mass hysteria. But that's still just a theory.
A short review of The Deadly Seven causes everyone's jaw to drop at some point. But the most shocking thing of all about this band is that they don't have a professional contract. They are still Indie and doing it all on their own. They don't even have a CD on the shelves yet. We did get word that they expect to release their debut effort, Parasite City, late October 2008.
As far as Indie artists go they are certainly at the top of the heap with over two million plays and views on their MySpace page while racking up (figuratively and literally) forty-thousand fans world wide. And they live it and breath it because they are determined to be successful. Their advice to Indie artists, "Don't give up, Fuck everyone who keeps you down! Create or die. Once you stop creating you are dead."
BandChi asked them what kind of a statment they are trying to make. "We are here for a good time. We are here to bring back sex, drugs, violence, and the devil to rock-n-roll! We are here to save music from the vomit that the record labels are spewing forth!!"
Any serious Indie artist knows it takes money to make money. Whether they land a huge record deal, find a willing investor or supply bodies to the college of medicine for scientific study, The Deadly Seven expect to see this show become a national act in the very near future. And we're sure that their deterimination will pay off.
In short, they are what Indie music is all about; giving the people what they really want. Once you see this show and connect with the truth of your own inner being, realizing how your spirit is ignited, you'll realize what a sick puppy you really are; bringing a smile to seven deadly faces. <<Back
